Okay, we saw a few of these before. Using Google street view to create art photography was done by Michael Wolf, Jacqui Kenny and others. From 2008, Jon Rafman started spending hours and hours navigating the streets of the world to do the same: finding awkward scenes that evoke questions.
The body of work called Nine Eyes of Google Street View referring to the nine lenses of the camera Google uses, is now online at the gallery website of Sprueth Magers. Freezing daily street life leads to interesting stills, challenging the viewer to imagine what has happened. In his endless search Rafman even found a broken down Google street view car. Photographed by a colleague car.
